In-House Developed Standard Cavity Model Put into Use in HSAI Wind Tunnel Testing

       Recently, HSAI conducted high speed windtunnel tests with a standard cavity model developed on its own. The model designwas based on flow/ vibration/ noise dynamics similarity relations. Optimized configurationof the leading edge provided a perfect solution to flow separation at theleading edge at subsonic speeds and detached shockwaves in supersonic flows,which takes the lead in similar research effort in China. The test obtained flowfield and noise data at M=0.6-2.0 in HSAI 0.6m×0.6m Semi-CircuitTransonic & Supersonic Wind Tunnel, which can serve as the basis for CFDvalidation.
